Nickel and chromium removal efficiency using a horizontal subsurface wetland

Abstract: This study assessed nickel and total chromium removal using a horizontal subsurface flow constructed wetland. Analysis of these metals concentration in Cyperus Alternifolius plant was carried out at first. Subsequently, removal kinetics of contaminants in the wetland were evaluated, obtaining a better fit to the Monod model for both metals.
