Abstract:Nonlinear microscopy is a non-invasive imaging technique which allows a visualization of biological tissue with high signal contrast due to spectral separation combined with high resolution. In addition to two-photon fluorescence and second harmonic signals also four-wave mixing signals can be used for imaging ocular structures. This review article presents the physical principles of different contrast mechanisms. Exemplary experimental results based on various nonlinear signals are shown, opportunities of thi… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
