Ni–S-methylisothiourea complexes supported on boehmite nanoparticles and their application in the synthesis of 5-substituted tetrazoles

Abstract: ARTICLE This journal isBoehmite nanoparticles is an aluminum oxide hydroxide (ɤ-AlOOH) particles, which were prepared by simple and inexpensive procedure and immobilized further with nickel Smethylisothiourea complex (Ni-SMTU@boehmite), and characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, TGA, XRD, ICP-OES, EDS, SEM and TEM techniques. Finally, we investigated the catalytic activity of Ni-SMTU@boehmite as a new, heterogeneous, stable and high reusable nanocatalyst for the synthesis of 5-substituted 1H-tetrazole derivative… Show more

“…Therefore in continuation of our studies of the application of boehmite as an insoluble support, here we report a complex of zirconium oxide that is immobilized on BNPs (Pr.S‐ZrO@boehmite). This catalyst was used for C–S and C–O coupling reactions.…”

“…[19][20][21] For these reasons, many methods have been reported for the preparation of BNPs, but these reports focused on physical and chemical properties of BNPs. [22][23][24] Therefore in continuation of our studies of the application of boehmite as an insoluble support, [25,26] here we report a complex of zirconium oxide that is immobilized on BNPs (Pr.S-ZrO@boehmite). This catalyst was used for C-S and C-O coupling reactions.…”

“…that can be built-up axially in mimicked nanorod orientations composed of AlO 4 (OH) 2 octahedral unit blocks. [19,20] The broadening of (0 2 0), (1 2 0), (0 3 1), (0 5 1), (151), (2 3 1), and (2 5 1) reflection peaks indicates that the γ-AlOOH is composed of nanocrystals. The FTIR spectra (Figure 1Ab) show the symmetrical and asymmetrical OH stretching vibration modes at 3095 and 3364 cm −1 , indicating the presence of OH bonds on the oxyhydroxide layer, and several absorption bands at 480, 623, and 740 cm −1 , which correspond to the AlO bonds.…”

“…An isocyanide‐based multicomponent reaction (Passerini‐azide and Ugi‐azide reactions) is also used for the synthesis of tetrazoles . According to the literature, 5‐substituted and 1‐substituted 1 H ‐tetrazoles have been synthesized using different azide agents (NaN 3 , TMSN 3 , and [bmim]N 3 ) and catalyzed by different systems such as SnCl 2 –SiO 2 , InCl 3 , ZnS nanoparticles (NPs) , Pt NPs@rGO , Cu–MCM‐41 , MCM‐41–SO 3 H , SiO 2 –H 3 BO 3 , Fe 3 O 4 @chitin , and boehmite–Ni . However, the reported works suffer from serious drawbacks such as using harmful organic solvents [e.g., dimethylformamide (DMF)], operating at elevated temperatures (above 100°C), requiring excessive time to reaction completion, and, in some cases, poor catalyst recyclability and reusability.…”
