Abstract:We demonstrate for the first time a nickel-catalyzed diastereoconvergent reductive coupling of a heteroatom-attached allyl moiety with aldehydes, viz., O-allyl, O-cinnamyl salicylaldehydes, and others, to afford syn-chromanols exclusively.
