“…It should be noted that in particular, NaNH 4 PO 3 F·H 2 O exhibits the largest birefringence among phosphates which enable its shortest phase-matching wavelength reaching the deep-UV region (194 nm). Motivated by these achievements, a fluoroboron arsenate, NH 4 BAsO 4 F (ABAF), 24 which was assembled with [BO 3 F] and [AsO 4 ] tetrahedra, attracted our attention. As mentioned above, the occurrence of [BO 3 F] tetrahedra in this compound may induce an enhanced birefringence and [AsO 4 ] tetrahedra may help in enhancement of SHG coefficient.…”

“…The term “fluoroborate” is predominantly represented by the tetrafluoroborate anion BF 4 – , which often acts as an out-sphere, charge-balancing anion. However, fluoroborates have been largely expanded by the recent observations of partial substitution of O atoms by F atoms in the BO 4 units to form BOF 3 2– , BO 2 F 2 3– , or BO 3 F 4– anions. The first example of BOF 3 2– was shown in the structure of BaBOF 3 , but the bond distance information turns out to be very suspicious . A more reliable description of the BO 2 F 2 3– anion first appeared in an organically templated borophosphate compound, (C 2 H 10 N 2 )[BPO 4 F 2 ], where reasonable evidence for the partial substitution of O atoms by F atoms in the BO 4 units was shown .…”

“…The other fluorinated borates containing additional anionic groups (e.g.,O H, PO 4 ,S O 4 ,A sO 4 )a re also excluded. [102][103][104][105][106] Through our comprehensive investigation based on the ICSD, 25 well-defined inorganic fluorooxoborate structures were reported up to now (Table 1) Chem. Eur.J.…”

“…Considering the DUV application, our investigation is limited to inorganic fluorooxoborates. The other fluorinated borates containing additional anionic groups (e.g., OH, PO 4 , SO 4 , AsO 4 ) are also excluded . Through our comprehensive investigation based on the ICSD, 25 well‐defined inorganic fluorooxoborate structures were reported up to now (Table ).…”
