Next generation sequencing for pathogen detection in periprosthetic joint infections

Abstract: Periprosthetic joint infections (PJI) represent one of the most catastrophic complications following total joint arthroplasty (TJA). The lack of standardized diagnostic tests and protocols for PJI is a challenge for arthroplasty surgeons.
