“…The basic carbonate precursor was prepared as described in Refs. [9,10] by using nitrate rare-earth solutions instead of the chloride ones. The polymeric precursor was obtained by heating a mixture of rare-earth nitrate solutions, citric acid and ethylene glycol [11,12].…”

“…Therefore, the investigation, development and improvement of methods focusing on morphological control are of great interest and must be considered. In the case of rare-earth oxide phosphors, one preferred method to obtain such converters is the decomposition of some compounds such as monodispersed fine spherical particles of basic carbonates [9,10] or a polymeric precursor through the Pechini method [11,12]. Basic carbonate and polymeric precursors have already been successfully applied in the preparation of nanosized yttrium oxysulfide upconverter phosphors doped with ytterbium and erbium (green emission) or ytterbium and thulium (blue emission) [13].…”

“…15) Based on this definition and the above observed relative spot sites, the Gd 2 O 3 and Nd 2 O 3 thin films are deduced to have a slightly negative and a positive mismatch with respect to the double unit cell of Si substrate along the in-plane direction, respectively, which agree well with the trend shown in their bulks. 16,17) …”

“…The similar observation has been reported for the case of monodispersed c-Gd 2 O 3 fine spherical particles derived from carbonate precursors. 10 The increase of the cell parameter is in the same proportion as the gadoliniumto-europium molar ratio into the common precursor solutions. Following the tendency of the cell parameter-annealing temperature relationship, it is obvious that the mechanism of the Eu 3+ ion incorporation obviously changed with annealing temperature, having a minimum at approximately 900 • C. After this temperature, there is a slight increase of the cell parameters with additional temperature increase.…”
