New Wellbore Proppant Transport Model Improves Prediction of Multiple Fracture Propagation in Horizontal Wells

Abstract: Completion optimization in hydraulic fracturing operations requires understanding the interaction between simultaneously propagating multiple fractures and the distribution of fluid and proppant among the fractures during the treatment. Diagnostic methods often reveal that propagation of fractures within single stage is quite uneven.
