“…Tetrazolium violet (TZV) having an electron-withdrawing chemical group, such as nitroblue tetrazolium, has been shown to bind its electrons using its positive tetrazole ring. 24 TZV is an important pharmaceutical intermediate for the preparation of various medicines. High concentrations of TZV can conduce to total inhibition of bacterial growth and TZV have been widely used for microbiological studies.…”

“…Therefore, exploiting the high-efficiency and nontoxic inhibitors for copper corrosion in acid solutions is of great importance. Tetrazolium violet (TZV) having an electron-withdrawing chemical group, such as nitroblue tetrazolium, has been shown to bind its electrons using its positive tetrazole ring . TZV is an important pharmaceutical intermediate for the preparation of various medicines.…”

“…(1,3,4,8,9) It is desirable to use a blue light transilluminator if possible, since UV light is not only harmful to the experimenter but also causes DNA damage during analysis. (4,(10)(11)(12)(13)(14) Generally, a gel document system is usually large because it includes UV fluorescence tubes, a darkroom, a high-performance camera for image capture, and a personal computer for camera control. (15) Even with the blue transilluminator, there is still room for further reduction in size because of the height required to achieve uniform light.…”

“…In a recent publication 13 , a new visible technique to stain and quantify DNA in polyacrylamide gels was proposed, using the reduction of a bivalent tetrazolium salt called nitro blue tetrazolium (NBT) and fluorescent dyes like ethidium bromide, GelRed, SYBR Green I and SYBR Gold. This reaction worked in the presence of blue light or sunlight and allowed sample recovery with improved quality compared to the use of SG I with a UV transilluminator. The objective of this paper is to provide a detailed protocol of the staining technique using tetrazolium salts.…”
