“…For Compritol 888 ATO, a value of 18.89 MPa 1/2 was proposed,26 and a value of 15.83 MPa 1/2 was found for stearic acid 27. As the solubility of a drug in a given solvent occurs, when Δ δ = δ solvent − δ solute < 10, it can be concluded that solubility of the three diclofenac forms in the Compritol‐based mixtures is expected.…”

“…The rHLB value of the lipid matrix of the coenzyme Q10 NLCs was calculated based on the rHLB value of blended myristic acidoleic acid, myristic acid-isopropyl myristate, and myristic acid-isopropyl palmitate. The rHLB value of myristic acid is not available (Pasquali et al, 2009), therefore, it was assuming the same with rHLB of stearic acids (15), which have almost the same length hydrocarbon chains. The rHLB value of oleic acid is 11, whereas isopropyl myristate and isopropyl palmitate have the same rHLB values, i.e., 11.5.…”

“…Hydrophile-Lipophile Balance (HLB) value, proposed by Griffin, is one of the indexes in selecting non-ionic surfactants [10] [11]. It is defined as a value to indicate the affinity of a surfactant for water and oil.…”
