New treatment of bronchopleural fistula following surgical resection of the dorsal segment of the left lower lobe: A case report

Abstract: Anatomical segment‐based or subsegmental resection for early lung cancer surgery has been used in selected cases, although postoperative complications of bronchopleural fistula sometimes occur. Persistent air leaks can cause complications such as empyema and aspiration pneumonia, resulting in prolonged patient hospitalization.
