Resumen. Este artículo presenta la investigación desarrollada en el Centro de Cultura Contemporánea de Barcelona (CCCB) para conocer el impacto de su programa de Alzheimer. Se describe la metodología mixta de la investigación desarrollada, si bien se ha privilegiado la dimensión cualitativa desde un paradigma hermenéutico. A nivel cuantitativo se ha utilizado la escala Non Pharmacological Therapy. A nivel cualitativo se han desarrollado grupos focales, un cuestionario y diarios de campo basados en la observación participativa durante las visitas. En la investigación han participado las personas con Alzheimer, sus acompañantes y familiares así como las educadoras del CCCB. La investigación muestra que el programa ha tenido un impacto positivo en el bienestar cognitivo y emocional de los participantes, así como en la dimensión de participación social. Destacan dimensiones como la evocación de recuerdos, el disfrute de la novedad, o la participación que rompe con una situación de aislamiento y exclusión. Se verifica un impacto igualmente positivo del programa en los cuidadores, familiares, educadores y en la propia institución, en el marco de un movimiento de las instituciones de cultura y los museos hacia la inclusión. La cultura es un poderoso instrumento para el bienestar y la participación social de las personas con Alzheimer. Resumen. En el presente artículo, se describe, de modo teórico, la actualidad de la orientación del binomio arte-educación hacia uno de los colectivos que mayor atención requiere en la sociedad del siglo XXI: aquellas personas que padecen Alzheimer y otro tipo de demencias, dentro del rango denominado como Tercera Edad. Se articulan, por tanto, varios campos como son la Educación Artística, las Demencias y las Artes Plásticas y Visuales, en función del análisis de los métodos que los ámbitos museísticos utilizan. Se atiende, asimismo, al diseño y al desarrollo de los programas desplegados por éstos, con especial consideración hacia la terapia psicológica que ofrecen. Así como a la asignación de materiales adecuados para la correcta organización de actividades creativas, destinadas a una participación colaborativa, cuyo objetivo es la inclusión social del colectivo indicado. Por último, contemplaremos el caso del MoMA de Nueva York como modelo de funcionamiento, especial sensibilización hacia el tema tratado y óptima aplicación adaptativa de su programa para mayores con Demencia temprana. The MoMA of New York case Abstract. The present article, it's described, in theoretically way, the topicality of the binomial arteducation orientation to one of the groups that more attention requires in the 21st century society: people with Alzheimer's and other dementias, within the range designated as Third Age. Therefore, several subjects such as Arts Education, Dementias and Plastic and Visual Arts are articulated, according to the analysis of the methods used by the museum scopes. In addition to this, we attend to the design and development of the programs displayed by them, with special consideration to the psychological therapy they offered. As well as the assignment of the appropriated materials to the correct organization of the creative activities, which are destined to a collaborative participation, whereof objective is the social inclusion of the indicated group. Finally, we will consider the MoMA of New York case as model of functioning, special sensitivity to the subject treated and optimal adaptive application of its program to the elderlies with Dementia.
