New Ternary La 2Sb-Type Compounds, ScRESb (RE: La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Tb), and the Oxygen Stuffed Variant Sc 4Yb4Sb4O. -The compounds ScLnSb (Ln: La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Tb) are prepared by solid state reaction of Sc metal and LnSb (Ta ampules, 1770 K, 36 h and 1520 K, 60 h). Sc 4Yb4Sb4O is obtained under similar conditions by replacing stoichiometric amounts of Sc by Sc 2O3. The samples are characterized by single crystal XRD and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The compounds crystallize in the tetragonal space group I4/mmm (Z = 4) with an ordered variant of the tetragonal La 2Sb-type structure. The magnetic susceptibility of ScCeSb, ScPrSb, and ScNdSb reveals Curie-Weiss behavior. -(NUSS, J.; JANSEN, M.; Z. Anorg. Allg. Chem. 640 (2014) 5, 713-718, http://dx.
