New Synthetic Approach of Fluorine-Containing Graphene Oxide for Improving Dielectric and Mechanical Properties of Polyimide Composites

Abstract: A new approach to synthesize fluorine-containing graphene oxide (FCGO) was proposed, in which a less toxic reagent was used rather than fluorine gas or anhydrous hydrogen fluoride. The dielectric and mechanical properties of polyimide composites were improved by incorporating a small amount of FCGO. FCGO served as not only nanofiller to lower the dielectric constant of PI films but also inorganic toughening particles to improve the toughness of PI films. The dielectric constant of PI films with 0.6 wt % FCGO w… Show more

“…To meet the application requirements for electronic products, some llers with excellent electrochemical properties, such as graphene (GP), [9][10][11][12] carbon nanotube, 13,14 ceramic (BaTiO 3 , PZT), [15][16][17] metal (Au, Cu), 18,19 metal oxide (ZnO), 20,21 had been chosen and added into PVDF matrix, and PVDF based composites with relatively higher dielectric constant were achieved. Among these llers, GP, a new type of twodimensional carbon nanomaterial with superior mechanical properties, high efficiency electron transfer capability and high thermal conductivity, 22,23 has been of interests recent years.…”

“…As shown in Fig. 4, in addition to the G peak around 1580 cm À1 ascribed to the sp 2 hybridized carbon atom, the Raman spectrum of CG has an emerging D peak around 1300 cm À1 originated from the disordered edge region of graphene-based materials, 23 which means that defect sites are introduced into CG during the mass production. From the Raman spectrum of ATCG, the intensity of D peak is slightly higher than that of CG, and the I D /I G value of ATCG is only increased to 0.97 from 0.92 of CG, implying that few defects are introduced into graphene nanosheets through acid soaking technique.…”
