New resonance type Fault Current Limiter

Abstract: Abstract-This paper proposes a new parallel LC resonance type Fault Current Limiter (FCL). This structure has low cast because of using dry capacitor and non-superconducting inductor and fast operation. The proposed FCL is able to limit fault current in constant value near to pre-fault condition value against series resonance type FCL. In this way, the voltage of point of common coupling (PCC) will not change during fault. Analytical analysis is presented in detail and simulation results are involved to valida… Show more

“…The reverberation FCLs diminish the issue current, yet they do not have intrusion capacity. 20,21 In December 2009, an arrangement resounding sort FCL dependent on thyristor secured arrangement capacitor (TPSC) 10,11 is introduced at the Pingyao substation of East China Power Grid, as appeared in Figure 7, which is the primary 220 kV or more voltage level FCL around the globe. An FCL of the full sort was structured and tried on a 23 kV/ 400A distribution feeder with just a constrained achievement.…”

“…Under the fault conditions the circuit is switched to fault state sub-topology and much higher impedance is offered to line. The resonance FCLs does not have interruption capability as they reduce the fault current [44,45]. Figure 8 Resonant type solid state FCL.…”

“…A FCLC can be divided into two types, i.e., superconducting (SCFCLC) and nonsuperconducting (NSCFCLC). References [24][25][26][27] report some examples of SCFCLC, while [28][29][30][31][32] explain examples of NSCFCLC. The comparative analysis of the two types of FCLC is elaborated in [33].…”
