Virtual product presentations that rely on static images and text are often insufficient to communicate all the information that is necessary to accurately evaluate a product. Technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR) or Augmented Reality (AR) have enabled more sophisticated representation methods, but certain product characteristics are difficult to assess and may result in perceptual differences when a product is evaluated in different visual media. In this paper, we report two case studies in which a group of participants evaluated three designs of two product typologies (i.e., a desktop telephone and a coffee maker) as presented in three different visual media (i.e., photorealistic renderings, AR, and VR for the first case study; and photographs, a non-immersive virtual environment, and AR for the second case study) using eight semantic scales. An inferential statistical method using Aligned Rank Transform (ART) proceedings was applied to determine perceptual differences between groups. Our results show that in both cases product attributes in Jordan's physio-pleasure category are the most affected by the presentation media. The socio-pleasure category was also affected for the case of the coffee makers. The level of immersion afforded by the medium significantly affects product evaluation.

Supplier selection is regarded as the primary goal of supply chain management (SCM) because it affects its performance, productivity, pleasure, flexibility, and system speed in lockdown. A new method is proposed based on a multi-stage fuzzy sustainable supplier index (FSSI). Experts can use the triple bottom line (TBL) criteria to select the best supplier. In addition, the worst method is proposed based on trapezoidal membership and fuzzy membership functions, which can cover uncertainties and ambiguous environments. Because it collects the related criteria and sub-criteria and uses a direct fuzzy methodology, this research has impacted the SCM literature because it helps solve previous expert methods’ computational difficulties. In addition, an ordered mean integration representation method has been implemented to prioritize the selection of the best supplier (SS) based on the sustainability performance of the best supplier, which improves the selection accuracy compared to the previous ranking method. This study can be used as a benchmark to determine which supplier is the best in sustainability. To provide the superiority and broad applicability of the proposed model, a practical case study was completed. On the other hand, the COVID-19 pandemic harms productivity, company performance, and selecting the best suppliers based on sustainability performance. The lockdown situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic hurts company performance and management.

The COVID-19 pandemic has not only created public health issues but also sectoral problems and economic crises. As a response to this unexpected phenomenon, online communities have also started initiatives to tackle it. One of these initiatives was carried out in Turkey. Innovative project ideas were gathered from entrepreneurs and potential contributors regarding the problems brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program occurred over three months (April 2020 to June 2020) through an open innovation platform in Turkey. The scope of this program is to collect business ideas from entrepreneurs and potential contributors, mature ideas with mentors and other entrepreneurs, and select the best ones by jury. In the process of evaluating the ideas, the weighted sum method (WSM) was used by the jury. The main purpose of this study is to reveal the effectiveness of the WSM via online communities in the idea evaluation phase. To demonstrate how this, we implemented different multi-criterion decision-making (MCDM) methods to the decision matrix dataset. We compare the results of WSM to those of the other two well-known (TOPSIS and VIKOR) MCDM methods. Besides, we conducted regression and sensitivity analysis to further clarify the differences between the results. Thereafter, we combine the rankings obtained from three MCDM methods by applying three aggregation methods as a compromise solution for the final decision. We find that the decision-makers can use WSM, TOPSIS, VIKOR, and aggregation methods separately according to the criterion weighting and the level of confidence in the scoring of the alternatives.
