“…The coordination chemistry of polyfunctional ligands such as pyridine carboxamides, which are capable of showing different coordination modes with metal cations, is of interest. In this regard, we reported the synthesis of a new series of N ‐nicotinyl (isonicotinyl) phosphoric triamide ligands, with the capacity of coordination from three donor sites (PO, CO and N py ), to study their ligation behaviour towards organotin(IV) compounds …”

“…In our previous studies, we have found that the reaction of SnCl 2 Me 2 with N ‐nicotinyl (isonicotinyl) phosphoric triamide ligands depends on the structure of the ligand in which the phosphorylated (iso)nicotinamides act as O ‐donor, N ‐donor or both forms . For example, the complexes of SnCl 2 Me 2 with 3‐C 5 H 4 NC(O)NHP(O)[NHC(CH) 3 ] 2 , 3‐NC 5 H 4 C(O)NHP(O)[NHC 6 H 11 ] 2 and 4‐NC 5 H 4 C(O)NHP(O)[NHC 6 H 11 ] 2 have been shown to exist as trans adducts with the PO donor site, whereas 4‐NC 5 H 4 C(O)NHP(O)[NHC(CH 3 ) 3 ] 2 acts as a N ‐donor ligand via the nitrogen atom of the pyridine ring (N py ) . Also, 4‐NC 5 H 4 C(O)NHP(O)(HNCHCH 3 C 6 H 5 ) 2 binds to Sn through N py and O P (the oxygen atom of phosphoryl group) in a trans–cis configuration .…”

“…These unusual elongations of the Sn-N bond distances are due to the fact that Snatoms are not symmetrically coordinated to two axial Natoms, but rather to one N-and one O-atom. On the other hand, Sn1 is coordinated to the N-atom from the tbpe ligand (Sn1-N17 = 2.584 Å ), which is longer than the reported values [45][46][47][48][49][50] (Table 4). Thus, the non-equivalence of the tin-nitrogen bond lengths is notable.…”

“…The synthesis of coordination compounds of carbacylamidophosphates (CAPh) has been the subject of important developments in recent years (Gholivand et al, 2010;Sokolov et al, 2008;Trush et al, 2005;Gubina et al, 2000), while CAPhs containing the [C(O)NHP(O)] structural unit have been known for a considerable time (Amirkhanov et al, 1997;Ovchynnikov et al, 1998;Ly & Woollins, 1998). This interest is due to their coordination chemistry as a consequence of the steric control that this ligand system may impart compared with, for example, -diketonates (Kepert, 1987;Gorkum et al, 2005).…”
