New multimedia modules in CAEME CD-ROM series: Wave motion and mechanics

Abstract: This paper presents two modules of multimedia lessons developed for the center of excellence for multimedia education (CAEME) CD-ROM series. The first module is a lesson on vibration and wave motion, and the other is concerned with lessons of mechanics. The developed lessons contain several multimedia assets, i.e., text, graphics, audio, video, movie, and animation. In developing these modules, emphasis has been placed on increasing the interactivity, and hence is expected to be of broader use by seniors in hi… Show more

“…The utilization of computer technology in education has started in 1970s 1. From then on, courseware is becoming more and more widely adopted in almost all education levels (primary education 2, middle school education, and college education) 3, 4 and most disciplines (mathematics 5–7, electrostatics 8, electromagnetics 9–11, thermotics 12, 13, hydraulics 14, 15, etc.). Some researchers already confirm that courseware is a valuable complement to education 11, 16–18.…”

“…This feature facilitates understanding of the main characteristics of pilotage, by putting the students in the simulation loop. The possibility of visualizing the effects of variation of different physical variables plays a relevant role in the student process of understanding the flight dynamic properties by bridging the gap between graphical, symbolic, and visual representations [15] and contributing to meaningful learning. In order to obtain v eq and y eq as a function of parameters m, E(a), C L (a), and T, the second members of Equations (6) are set equal to zero and the system is solved.…”

“…With the development of computer technology and multimedia technology, courseware is becoming more and more widely adopted in almost all education levels (primary education [2], middle school education, and college education) [3,4] and most disciplines (mathematics [5À7], electrostatic [8], electromagnetics [9À11], thermotics [12,13], hydraulics [14,15], pneumatics [16], mechanics [17,18], FEM analysis [19,20] physics [21], chemistry [22,23], music [23], language [23], programming [24,25], etc). Recent researches also show that courseware can be a valuable complement to education [26À31].…”
