New Methodology of Designation the Precise Aircraft Position Based on the RTK GPS Solution

Abstract: The paper presents the results of research on improving the accuracy of aircraft positioning using RTK-OTF (Real Time Kinematic–On The Fly) technique in air navigation. The paper shows a new solution of aircraft positioning for the application of the differential RTK-OTF technique in air navigation. In particular, a new mathematical model is presented which makes it possible to determine the resultant position of an aircraft based on the solution for the method of least squares in a stochastic process. The dev… Show more

“…Consequently, aviation-integrated communication equipment [9,10] emerged as the times required. The equipment integrates self-organized network communication links [11], 4G/5G public network communication links [12], real-time kinematic (RTK) differential high-precision positioning links [13], BeiDou third-generation short message communication links [14], aviation automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) communication links [15], integrated control centers, and a power adaptation module. However, high electronic integration, high system power consumption, and prolonged continuous running result in the increasingly severe issue of radiating heat, which is critical to regular operation and lifespan [16].…”

“…Another advantage of the RTN technique is that the coordinate positioning accuracy does not decrease with the distance from the reference station so that the results are not inferior to those obtained by the RTK technique [51]. GNSS geodetic networks are primarily used in agriculture and forestry, engineering construction, geodesy and geodynamics [52,53], hydrography and hydrology [54,55], metrology [56], navigation and transport applications [57][58][59], as well as spatial information systems [60,61]. Moreover, work is currently underway to determine the position coordinates with high accuracy in areas with numerous terrain obstacles [62,63].…”

“…With the development of technology, the accuracy of GNSS-based positioning has been continuously improved. The localization precision of GNSS using RTK (real-time kinematic) technology reaches the centimeter level [7,8]. However, the GNSS positioning resolution will be reduced or the system will fail in dense buildings or mountainous jungles, or when individuals in dense groups block each other.…”
