Abstract:Objective: The transient outward K þ current (I to ) contributes to repolarization in ventricular muscle. The functional effects of a novel I to activator, NS5806, were determined in canine left ventricular myocytes. Methods: Epicardial (epi), midmyocardial (mid) and endocardial (endo) cells were isolated by enzymatic dissociation. Whole cell patch clamp techniques were used to identify I to in the 3 cell types. Oocytes injected with Kv4.3 and KChiP2 were also used to evaluate the effect of NS5806. Results: Ap… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
