New Herbig–Haro objects and outflows in the Mon R1 association

Abstract: We present the results of a narrow-band Hα and [S ii] imaging survey of the Mon R1 association performed with the 1-m Schmidt telescope at Byurakan Observatory. Our observations covered a 1° field near the centre of the association. As a result of this study, 20 new Herbig–Haro knots were discovered, some of which form collimated outflows. Among the most extended ones are HH 1203 and HH 1196, which have a length of 1 pc or even more. During the search for the probable sources of HH objects, several new nebulou… Show more

“…As was mentioned above, several HH groups and HH flows were found in the six areas of Mon R1 and described in the our previous paper (Movsessian, Magakian & Dodonov 2021). It is worth mentioning that none of these areas is located in the field, studied here, and, besides, none of these groups shows obvious traces of H2 emission at least in WISE or GLIMPSE360 surveys.…”

“…1 we show the general view of that part of Mon R1, where the suspected H2 flows were found. All of them are located in a very dense area, seen to the west from NGC 2247 nebula, near IRAS 06297+1021 (W) and (E) sources (see for details Movsessian, Magakian & Dodonov 2021).…”

“…In frames of BNBIS in the Mon R1 were discovered several new HH objects as well as two collimated outflow systems, one form which belongs to giant HH outflows with size of 1.6pc. Detailed description of newly discovered HH objects and outflow systems can be found in Movsessian, Magakian, & Dodonov (2021). Narrow band image, which is covering one square degree field of Mon R1 region with newly discovered HH objects, is shown on the Fig.…”
