New family of potentials with analytical twiston-like solutions

Abstract: In this letter we present a new approach to find analytical twiston models. The effective twofield model was constructed by a non-trivial combination of two one field systems. In such an approach we successfully build analytical models which are satisfied by a combination of two defectlike solutions, where one is responsible to twist the molecular chain by 180 0 , while the other implies in a longitudinal movement. Such a longitudinal movement can be fitted to have the size of the distance between adjacent mol… Show more

“…where W φ (χ), W φ (φ, χ), and W φ (φ) are equivalent since they are constructed with the deformation function f (χ) and with its inverse. The analogous procedure is taken for the different forms of W χ and for the extra function g. Such a methodology corresponds the simplest path to combine fields φ and χ, and was successfully applied in cosmological scenarios [8,9], and in the description of crystalline polyethylene molecule [10]. This last function is used to connect fields φ and χ in the effective two scalar field model.…”

“…The effective model is obtained via the application of an extension method developed in [27]. Such a method was successfully applied in the context of a cosmological model as one can see in [22], to build analytical three scalar field models [28] and recently to derive new topological twiston-like defects for polyethylene molecules [29]. In this approach, we are going to deal with the analytical solutions…”
