New families of interpolating type IIB backgrounds

Abstract: Abstract:We construct new families of interpolating two-parameter solutions of type IIB supergravity. These correspond to D3-D5 systems on non-compact six-dimensional manifolds which are T 2 fibrations over Eguchi-Hanson and multi-center Taub-NUT spaces, respectively. One end of the interpolation corresponds to a solution with only D5 branes and vanishing NS three-form flux. A topology changing transition occurs at the other end, where the internal space becomes a direct product of the four-dimensional surface… Show more

“…(2) -and maps it into another background where new fluxes are turned on. This U-duality can be seen to be equivalent to (a particular case of) a rescaling of the Kähler two-form and complex structure three-form characterizing the background (see [27,28] …”

“…Furthermore, elaborating on [26], it was recently shown that given a solution of the wrapped-D5 system, subject to some restriction on its UV behavior, it is possible to algorithmically generate a whole class of more general solutions, still satisfying the PT ansatz, but in which a non-trivial flux for the RR five-form F 5 and the NS two-form B 2 are present [26]- [28]. We will refer to this algorithmic procedure as rotation.…”

“…This is not surprising since we can dimensionally reduce our solutions on R 5 to get solutions of ungauged five dimensional supergravity. In addition, these equations also turn up in type II supergravity for T 2 fibrations over Hyper-Kähler spaces and the type II analogue of the Gibbons-Hawking solutions we find have been analyzed in [11]. It is straightforward to convert our solutions on the Atiyah-Hitchin manifold to such type II backgrounds.…”

“…The N = 1 interpolating solution between rigid branes and fractional branes of [13] has been generalised to N = 2 models in [14]. For a constant dilaton Φ = Φ 0 , (10) can be integrated over P 1 and implies b = sinhβe −2Φ 0 j.…”
