“…Lipids and phospholipids are key components in cells. They modulate the permeability of membranes, act as their supporting framework, and participate in signal transmission in response to external and internal stimuli [ 80 ]. Therefore, the biochemical activity of EGO concerning lipids and phospholipids was investigated.…”

“…91 Further types of CeO 2 NMs activities, namely, lipoperoxidase and phospholipoperoxidase, have also been discovered recently. 92 Lipid hydroperoxide and phosphatidylcholine hydroperoxide decomposed catalytically at CeO 2 NMs in the presence of organic peroxide substrates.…”

“…Moreover, CeO 2 NPs can mimic the DNase I activity for cleaving single-stranded DNA oligonucleotides, which cleave DNA into smaller pieces than DNase I. Porous CeO 2 nanorods (PN-CeO 2 ) can also mimic the DNA photolyase-like activity that breaks cyclobutene pyrimidine dimers (CPDs) into monomers to repair UV-induced DNA damage . Further types of CeO 2 NMs activities, namely, lipoperoxidase and phospholipoperoxidase, have also been discovered recently . Lipid hydroperoxide and phosphatidylcholine hydroperoxide decomposed catalytically at CeO 2 NMs in the presence of organic peroxide substrates.…”

In cerium(III) and cerium(IV) compounds, broad and intense bands in the UV region arise from 4f-5d transitions and charge transfer from oxygen to cerium ions, respectively.…”
