New equations to calculate temperature correction factors for Po2 in human blood.

Abstract: Effects of hemoglobin concentration (Hb), pH, and body temperature (T) on the relationships between d log Poz/d T and Pot were studied by means of a mathematical model using a Newton-Raphson iteration method. The functions between d log Poz/d T and Poz were affected by the above three factors. New equations considering the effects of Hb, pH, and T were proposed by modifying the equation reported by Severinghaus: where fB is the Bohr factor. The above equations provided values of d log Poz/d T which fit closely… Show more

“…For three individual fish per tank ( n = 12 per treatment), the pH of the distal gut content was analysed using an Orion ROSS™ micro‐electrode and Orion Star™ pH meter (Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., Waltham, MA) and values were temperature‐corrected from 25°C to adjust to fish in water temperatures of 11 and 18°C according to Inaba et al . ().…”

“…Gut samples were collected in tubes containing 0Á2 g l À1 bactopeptone (Becton, Dickinson and Co, Stockholm, Sweden) with 0Á15 g l À1 Tween 80 (Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany) and stored at 4°C until agar plating on the following day.
