New distributional and morphological data of two species of catsharks, genus Scyliorhinus Blainville, 1816 (Carcharhiniformes, Scyliorhinidae), from the western South Atlantic

Abstract: This study provides new distributional and morphological information for two recently described species of catsharks (Carcharhiniformes, Scyliorhinidae) from Brazil. Scyliorhinus cabofriensis Soares, Gomes & Carvalho, 2016, originally described from off Cabo Frio, state of Rio de Janeiro (536 m depth) is recorded in deeper waters (647 m) off northern Rio de Janeiro, and Scyliorhinus ugoi Soares, Gadig & Gomes, 2015, previously known from the Caribbean Sea to Rio de Janeiro (depth unknown), is r… Show more
