Regarding the ruthenium complexes containing the PB ligand, they have been used as either bidentate O,O-coordinated ligand in the [Ru(μ-PB)(CO)2(L 2 )]2 complex, or as η 6 -coordinated 4-phenylbutyric acid (PBA) in the [Ru(η 6 -PBA)(L 3 )Cl] + or [Ru(η 6 -ar)(η 6 -PBA)] 2+ complexes; L 2 = pyridine or triphenylphosphane, L 3 = e.g., 1,10-phenanthroline or benzaldehyde monothiosemicarbazone, and ar = e.g., 1,2,3,4,5,6-hexamethylbenzene [12][13][14].
