New dinuclear fluorine-containing bis(salicylidene)imine titanium complex: synthesis and catalytic properties in polymerization of ethylene and propylene

Abstract: New dinuclear titanium(IV) dichloride complex with the chelating bis 4,4´ bis imine (3,5 di tert butylsalicylidene)octafluorobiphenyl ligand was synthesized. In the presence of polymethylaluminoxane (MAO), the complex showed high catalytic activity in ethylene poly merization leading to high molecular (M n ∼2500000) linear polyethylene with a high polydis persity index (M w /M n ∼7.0) and high melting point (142 °С). The catalytic activity in propylene polymerization in a medium of liquid monomer is substantia… Show more

“…75,77 These R 1 linked phenoxy-imine ligands possibly resulted in the formation of macrocyclic complexes of the type (L FI -L FI ) 2 -(MX n ) 2 . [125][126][127] Another approach for multinuclear phenoxy-imine complexes is to connect the phenol moiety, that is, to use biphenyl-2,2 0 -diol (for example, complex 20 in Chart 27) [128][129][130] or naphthalene-1,8-diol (for example, complexes 21 and 22 in Scheme 22). [131][132][133][134] The use of 2-hydroxyisophthalaldehyde and certain amines furnished [N,O,N] type tridentate ligands, which can bind nickel metals in different ways depending on the ligand structures, affording different multinuclear complexes.…”
