Abstract:Background Optimal surgical treatment of functional ischemic mitral regurgitation (FIMR) is still controversy. Due to the underlying pathophysiology, stand-alone ring annuloplasty is assumed with a high recurrence rate of mitral regurgitation, thus additional subvalvular repair techniques might improve the results.
