New Chlorinated Metabolites and Antiproliferative Polyketone from the Mangrove Sediments-Derived Fungus Mollisia sp. SCSIO41409

Abstract: Two new chlorinated metabolites, 8-chlorine-5-hydroxy-2,3-dimethyl-7-methoxychromone (1) and 3,4-dichloro-1H-pyrrole-2,5-dione (3), and eight known compounds (2 and 4–9) were isolated from the mangrove sediments-derived fungus Mollisia sp. SCSIO41409. Their structures were elucidated by physicochemical properties and extensive spectroscopic analysis. The absolute configuration of stemphone C (4) was established for the first time by the X-ray crystallographic analysis. Compounds 3 and 4 showed different intens… Show more

“…A small library of marine NPs containing 205 compounds was prepared to screen for active LXRα modulators. Those well-preserved compounds were obtained from marine microorganisms (55 from mangrove sediment-derived fungi, 50 from coral-derived fungi, 44 from sponge-derived fungi, 13 from algae-derived fungi, and 43 from marine actinomycete) by our group in recent years, and their chemical structures can be found in the Supporting Information (Figures S1–S5). Those ligands were indexed in SDF format and optimized using the Ligprep module of Schrodinger 2017.…”

“…SCSIO41409, which produces 352 and 353, the latter of which is reported for the first time as a natural product. 166 The mangrove-derived fungus Phomopsis sp. QYM-13 from leaves of Kandelia candel was fermented in the presence of bromide and iodide to give the "forced" metabolites, phomopchalasins E, F, and H (354−356).…”

“…Polyketides are abundant in marine natural products of fungal origin. [50,51,52,53,54] Polyketides include a series of natural products with complex structure, such as macrolides, polyenes, anthraquinones, naphthalene, flavonoids, tetracycline and so on. [55,56,57,58] Due to the great application value of these compounds in antimicrobial, anti-tumor, anti-infection, etc., researchers are attracted to carry out in-depth and systematic research on polyketides.…”
