New aspects of the low-energy structure of At211

α-decay half-life of 212Po at stellar temperatures

Very recently, the lifetime of this state was measured by the recoil-distance Doppler shift method [11]: τ = 101 ± 7 ps, in excellent agreement with another recent measurement of τ = 100 ± 14 ps [12]. Together with the branching B α,2 ≈ 0.5%, the α-decay half-life is now based on experimental data: t 1/2 = 1.40 × 10 −8 s, corresponding to λ α,2 = 4.95 × 10 7 s −1 or Γ α,2 = 3.26 × 10 −8 eV.…”
