Abstract: This paper describes a method for calculating the induced currents in a high temperature superconducting bulk (HTS) used in a superconducting synchronous motor (SSM) design. knowledge of these currents leads to useful information concerning the real behavior of HTS material with respect to external magnetic eld and therefore operating limits of the superconducting motor.
