“…The chronostratigraphic framework for the Gippsland Basin is based on palynological and foraminiferal zonation schemes (James & Evans, 1971;Partridge, 1971Partridge, , 1976Partridge, , 1999Partridge, , 2006Stover & Evans, 1973;Stover & Partridge, 1973;Warne et al, 2003), integrated with numerous unpublished industry palynological reports available for most petroleum wells in the Gippsland Basin. More recent work on the Eocene to Miocene palynology of the Gippsland and Otway basins has refined the biostratigraphic and chronostratigraphic understanding of the Gippsland Basin (Korasidis et al, 2018;Korasidis, Wallace, Wagstaff, et al, 2019). We have updated all biostratigraphic zonations for the Gippsland Basin to the Gradstein 2012 geologic timescale (Gradstein et al, 2012).…”
