Abstract: Upregulation of free radical-generating NADPH oxidases (NOX), xanthine oxidoreductase (XOR), and neutrophil infiltration-induced, NOX2-mediated respiratory burst contribute to renal ischemia–reperfusion injury (IRI), but their roles may depend on the severity of IRI.
