Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio for early renal failure under extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support for postcardiotomy shock

Abstract: Bu çalışmada postkardiyotomik şok nedeniyle ekstrakorporeal membran oksijenasyon desteği alan hastalarda nötrofil-lenfosit oranı ve böbrek hasarı arasındaki ilişki araştırıldı. Ça lış ma pla nı: Ocak 2007 -Temmuz 2018 tarihleri arasında merkezimizde postkardiyotomik şok nedeniyle ekstrakorporeal membran oksijenasyon desteği alan ve en az 48 saat hayatta kalan toplam 119 hasta (38 erkek, 81 kadın; ort. yaş 54.4±13.0 yıl; dağılım 24-74 yıl) retrospektif olarak incelendi. Hastaların ameliyat öncesi ve sonrası nöt… Show more

“…In addition, we also found that kidney function is the worst in the third tertile group, which may be an important impact factor of outcomes. A previous study (24) showed that NLR was significantly increased in patients with renal failure, which was in line with our results. Importantly, when we adjusted the Cr variable, the dNLR remains a significant predictive power of mortality.…”

“…When our findings were examined, it was found that pseudoaneurysms were compatible within the literature in terms of the risk of development by hypertension, chronic kidney disease and the inappropriate area of intervention (1,2,6). When we examine the literature (11)(12)(13)(14), we see that there are studies on new markers aimed at supporting diagnosis in anticipating the follow-up, treatment and complications of peripheral vascular, aorta and cardiac diseases. In particular, the number and ratio of various cell elements in CBC are used for this purpose.…”

“…In these studies, it is aimed to predict complications based on the proportions of blood elements and to use them as a marker in diagnosis. These include NLR, LPR and NPR (11)(12)(13). In addition to these rates, PPR, which has not been studied before in the literature, has been examined in our study.…”

“…As a result of this response, the NLR is positively affected, which may induce undesired results in the postoperative period. [ 2 , 3 ] Platelets are important mediators of inflammatory and ischemic damage in vital organs. It has been shown that low platelet count after CABG is associated with early mortality and poor prognosis.…”
