Neutron Polarization Observables in $$d(\vec {\gamma },\vec {n})p$$ at Low Energies of Interest to Astrophysics

Abstract: A model-independent theoretical analysis of neutron polarization observables in $$d(\vec {\gamma },\vec {n})p$$ using circularly polarized photons at the range of energies of interest to Big Bang Nucleosynthesis is presented. An investigation of various spin dependent observables is carried out including the isoscalar multipole amplitudes $$M{{1}_{s}}$$ and $$E{{2}_{s}}.$$ It is suggested that the measurement of neutron polarization in the final state at near threshold energies will be very useful to assess th… Show more

“…T -violation is equivalent to charge conjugation (C) and parity violation according to the CPT theorem that states that the Universe remains invariant under the combined operation of CPT . The CP violation is one of the several conditions that can explain the matter-antimatter asymmetry of the Universe [3]. However, CP or T violation in the standard model (SM) of elementary particles miserably fails to justify the observed imbalance between matter and antimatter in the present-day Universe.…”

“…As A.Sakharov in Ref. [3] showed that baryon asymmetry may be dynamically generated from the following conditions. (i) processes that violate baryon number; (ii)violation of charge (C) and charge parity (CP) symmetry; (iii) out of the thermal equilibrium.…”

“…the baryon asymmetry, propelling our understanding of the fundamental nature of the Universe to new frontiers. In the year 1967, Andrei Sakharov put forth a seminal proposition encompassing three indispensable prerequisites for the emergence of a baryon asymmetry, baryon-number (non-conserving interactions), C and CP violation and out of thermal equilibrium [13]. Sakharov's visionary scenario involves a Universe that initially contracts, possessing a baryon asymmetry of equal but opposite magnitude to that presently existing.…”
