Neutrino physics with JUNO

Abstract: The JUNO experiment locates in Jinji town, Kaiping city, Jiangmen city, Guangdong province. The geographic location is east longitude 112 • 31'05' and North latitude 22 • 07'05'. The experimental site is 43 km to the southwest of the Kaiping city, a county-level city in the prefecture-level city Jiangmen in Guangdong province. There are five big cities, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macau, Shenzhen, and Zhuhai, all in ∼200 km drive distance, as shown in figure 3.

“…[51], the NO is somewhat favored over IO at ∼ 2σ level. There are quite a few proposed experiments that may determine the neutrino-mass ordering at more than 3σ level within a decade [54,55], such as PINGU [56], ORCA [57], and JUNO [58,59]. To confirm NO in these future experiments would be a first consistency check of our model.…”

“…We refrain from depicting ∆(sin 2 θ 23 ) for a different reason. The octant degeneracy, as we demonstrated in the ¶ In the absence of new solar neutrino experiments, better CPT-violating bounds on the long-wavelength parameters are expected from the JUNO experiment [52] (and also RENO-50 [53]). The error bar in Eq.…”

“…Neither Hyper-K nor DUNE (nor combinations of the two) are expected to modify the current situation. On the other hand, next-generation long-baseline reactor experiments, like JUNO [52] and RENO-50 [53], will measure the antineutrino parameters sin 2 θ 12 and ∆m 2 21 much more precisely. These are expected to have a limited impact on ∆(∆m 2 21 ) given that the dominant contribution to its uncertainty comes from current solar data, unless the preferred value differs significantly from the one reported by KamLAND.…”

“…The protons strike a beryllium target, creating spallation neutrons. In some cases the neutrons exit from the target into a heavy water moderator [45,46], while in some cases there is no moderator [47]. In either case, they then enter into a sleeve containing isotopically pure 7 Li, sometimes in the compound FLiBe (Li 2 BeF 4 ) [47], where they are absorbed yielding 8 Li.…”
