Neutral hydrogen in nearby 3C radio galaxies

Abstract: Observations of three nearby 3C radio galaxies, 3C430, 3C449, and 3C465, with the Nançay radio telescope (France) reveal for the first time the 21 cm absorption line of neutral hydrogen. The line is blue shifted by several hundred km/s in all three objects. This can probably be explained by an outflow of neutral hydrogen from the parent galaxies.

“…In the result of forming of circular electric currents in the central part of Active galaxies evaluates dipolar magnetic fields. At the present time there are a lot of observational evidences of existence of the large amount of neutral and ionized gas in the host elliptical galaxies (for example Morganti et al (2003), Andreasyan et al (2008)), and also of outflows in Radio galaxies ( (Oosterloo et al, 2004)), which provides the conditions for the working of Biermann battery effect, and evolution of dipolar magnetic fields.…”
