Neurological effects of radiofrequency radiation

Abstract: Cases have arisen after exposure to much of the radiofrequency range. In some cases, symptoms are transitory but lasting in others. After very high exposures, nerves may be grossly injured. After lower exposures, which may result in dysaesthesia, ordinary nerve conduction studies find no abnormality but current perception threshold studies have found abnormalities. Only a small proportion of similarly exposed people develop symptoms. The role of modulations needs clarification. Some of these observations are n… Show more

“…Therefore, the effects of mobile phones on human health is still controversial. Many researchers conducted studies on the effects of electromagnetic field induced by RF radiation with different Specific Absorption Ratios (SAR) on the nervous system, skeletal system, cardiovascular system and utero-placental functions (1)(2)(3)(4).…”

“…However, it is unclear whether these standards are appropriate for millimeter-wave frequencies or whether the use of visible tissue damage is the optimal end point for millimeter-wave exposures. It has been proposed that persons exposed to millimeter waves may not show a visible injury but that there may still be a biological response to the exposure (6). Thus characterization of the cellular and molecular responses to millimeter waves will provide important information for national and international standards committees to more accurately establish scientifically based exposure limits.…”

“…Exposure to microwave radiation caused neurological symptoms in humans, while it caused chromosomal instability in lymphocytes (1, 2). Microwave radiation from cellular phones enhanced allergic responses in patients with atopic eczema dermatitis syndrome (AEDS), while it failed to do so in normal subjects (3).…”
