Neuroinformatics Software Applications Supporting Electronic Data Capture, Management, and Sharing for the Neuroimaging Community

Abstract: Accelerating insight into the relation between brain and behavior entails conducting small and large-scale research endeavors that lead to reproducible results. Consensus is emerging between funding agencies, publishers, and the research community that data sharing is a fundamental requirement to ensure all such endeavors foster data reuse and fuel reproducible discoveries. Funding agency and publisher mandates to share data are bolstered by a growing number of data sharing efforts that demonstrate how informa… Show more

“…The longitudinal data used in this manuscript were organized via a formal, locked data release (NCANDA_RELEASE_00001_V01), which was previously described in Sullivan and colleagues (). Additional information about the NCANDA Data Management System has been published elsewhere (Nichols and Pohl, ; Rohlfing et al., ). Associations between baseline sleep variables and the 3 categorical substance measures were examined using ordinal regression (at‐risk alcohol use, binge alcohol use) or logistic regression (past‐year marijuana use).…”

“…The battery of tests was administered in the same order across all sites and was generally completed in about 3 hours. Test results were uploaded to the software platform, Scalable Informatics for Biomedical Imaging Studies (Nichols & Pohl, 2015; Rohlfing, Cummins, Henthorn, Chu, & Nichols, 2014; SIBIS) at SRI International. The longitudinal data used in this manuscript were organized via a formal, locked data release (NCANDA_RELEASE_00001_V01).…”
