Neuro-cognitive rehabilitation among patients with spinal cord injury treated with stem cell

Abstract

Discovery of the potential use of stem cells in neural repair and regeneration on patients with Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a noteworthy development in the neurosciences. In this review, several ongoing studies are presented that aim to describe neurobiology of spinal cord injury, role of stem cell therapy in neural repair and importance of neuro-cognitive rehabilitation (NCR) among patients with SCI who treated with stem cell. Result: NCR is a group of designed techniques that is for the promotion of cognitive domains. It is a science of restoring cognitive processing which affects the molecular and cellular recovery rehabilitation by integrating behavioral and cognitive changes. Neuro-cognitive deficits are potential side effects of stem cell therapy (SCT). The promotion of cognitive neuroscience rehabilitation has made it a priority with the help of interventional procedures. Cognitive impairments after SCT in patients with SCI are considered huge health challenges. Intervention in the passive skills also can lead to NCR that includes designed experience on the basis of nerve and brain function and structure. Neuroplasticity and reorganization of cortical damage by morphological and physiological reactions in nerve reconstruction techniques are the basis of neuro-cognitive rehabilitation which is affected by the environment, stimulation complexity, repeated tasks and motivation.
