“…In fact, data from introgression mouse strains (recombinant inbred lines, chromosome substitution strains (Gora-Maslak et al, 1991;Singer et al, 2004;Threadgill et al, 2011)) suggest that variation in different chromosomes indeed has a substantial impact on the phenotypic expression of a given variation. For instance, substitution of chromosomes of A/J mice into Bl6 mouse genomes produced anxiety effects that together add up to much more than the difference between the parental strains (Singer et al, 2004), and recombinant inbred lines showed more phenotypic variation in impulsivity then the parental strains (Loos et al, 2014b). Hence, epistasis appears to be a dominant factor at least in mouse behavior.…”

“…A risk SNP that lies within a DNA ultra-conserved element strongly predicts elevated brain expression of NRG3 splice isoforms in SZ patients and normal controls (Kao et al, 2010). In mice, Nrg3 expression in the prefrontal cortex and knockout increased and decreased, respectively, impulsivity, a symptom of schizophrenia (Loos et al, 2014). …”

“…AAV serotype 2 (AAV2) particles that contained the CMV minimal promoter and the coding gene sequence of Bcan or green fluorescent protein (AAV-GFP) were produced and purified using a two-plasmid crosspackaging system as described previously (Loos et al, 2014). For intracranial injections, mice were anesthetized with isoflurane, received 0.1 mg/kg Temgesic (RB Pharmaceuticals, UK) and were mounted in a stereotactic frame.…”
