Neural Mechanism for Spatial Memory Exposed to Mozart Music

Abstract: In order to further investigate the structural characteristics of some music tracks that may produce the "Mozart effect", this paper describes the key musical elements of "Mozart effect". Mozart K.448 and reversed Mozart K.448 are chosen as music stimulus materials to examine ethological changes of rodents and students. It has been proven that there is indeed the "Mozart effect". We also apply molecular biology techniques to carry out profound discussion on production mechanism of "Mozart effect". The results … Show more

“…Mozart K448 sonata played to mice increased spatial performance as well as increased BDNF and TrkB expression levels in newborn pups. 47 Of course, it is more possible to talk about these effects with greater certainty due to technical reasons in studies using animals. However, there is a lack of reflection on human cognitive skills in animal studies.…”

“…Finally, a study supporting the relationship between BDNF and the Mozart effect also provides an interesting result about how long the Mozart effect can last. Mozart K448 sonata played to mice increased spatial performance as well as increased BDNF and TrkB expression levels in newborn pups 47 .
