Network-Based Biomarkers for Cold Coagulation Blood Stasis Syndrome and the Therapeutic Effects of Shaofu Zhuyu Decoction in Rats

Abstract: In this study, the reverse docking methodology was applied to predict the action targets and pathways of Shaofu Zhuyu decoction (SFZYD) bioactive ingredients. Furthermore, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) cold coagulation blood stasis (CCBS) syndrome was induced in female Sprague-Dawley rats with an ice-water bath and epinephrine, and SFZYD was used to treat CCBS syndrome. A metabolomic approach was used to evaluate changes in the metabolic profiles and to analyze the pharmacological mechanism of SFZYD actio… Show more

“…Blood stasis syndrome (BSS) is a common Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) syndrome, mainly caused by Qi deficiency, Qi stagnation, phlegm, etc. (He et al, ; Li et al, ; Lu, Xu, Zhao, & Li, ; Su et al, ). It often appears in the development and progression of many diseases, such as coronary heart disease (Ma et al, ; Wang, Li, et al, ), chronic heart failure (Gao, Zhao, et al, ) and atherosclerosis (Bai & Song, ), and seriously threatens the health and life of patients.…”

“…The predicted components related to the blood-activating activity of XXT were identied with reference standards. The anticoagulant activity of the predicted components of different concentrations (10,20, and 40 mM) on normal rat plasma was determined by the method described in Section 2.3.3. 33,34 The bioactive components were nally screened out with this in vitro test.…”

“…On day 7, 30 minutes aer intragastric administration, the ii-xiii groups were injected subcutaneously with 0.1% adrenaline (1 mg kg À1 ) twice to establish an acute blood stasis model. 20 The rst dose was 1 mg kg À1 , and the second dose was reduced to 0.8 mg kg À1 at an interval of 4 hours. Two hours aer the rst dose of adrenaline, the rats in the ii-xiii groups were also immersed in an ice bath for 5 min.…”

“…1 As one of the syndromes of blood stasis, cold coagulation is caused by coldevil. In traditional Chinese medicine theories, cold leads to blood clotting, and blood clotting leads to blood stasis; therefore, cold-evil easily leads to the syndrome of blood stasis, 2,3 which has a serious inuence on females during the menstrual period; moreover, it can cause various problems in women in the reproductive age. In addition, endometriosis is a grim challenge that may lead to female infertility.…”
