Abstract: The occurrence of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in patients with sickle-cell disease (SCD) is rare. The relation between lupus disease severity and haemoglobinopathies like b thalassemia is still unclear. We report Saudi women with sickle cell disease and active systemic lupus erythematosus who presented with lower limb weakness, and symptomatic anemia.
