Neonatal nurses role during hospitalization of preterm babies in reducing parent anxiety

Abstract: Hospitalization is stressful for families. Mothers of preterm infants may exhibit anxiety and symptoms of depression during the acute phase of the infant's hospitalization in the NICU. Specialized nursing interventions reduces parental stress and anxiety thus fostering the parent's abilities to cope with the difficulties and caring for their premature newborn.
