Nejednotná terminológia vzťahujúca sa na nútené povojnové migračné pohyby Nemcov z Československa

Abstract

The aim of the paper is to open a discussion about the inconsistent terminology related to the displacement of the German population from the territory of today's Slovakia to German-speaking countries at the end of the Second World War. The author considers how the terms denoting this displacement are used in German and Czech-Slovak scholarly discourse. It is argued that they reflect different interpretations of this historical event caused by specifics of the political and social development of the countries involved. In this context, the author underlines the problematic nature of the terms "forced migration" and "refugees" and addresses the possibilities of employing terminology from the field of migration studies.
