Neither Prophets of Doom nor Facile Optimism

Abstract

This paper views the Swedish wage earner fund debate in the context of various theories about the transition to socialism. It reviews the ideas of the participants in the debate and of various theorists. The conclusion is that a transition to socialism may come about at some time in the future through either a revolutionary or gradual transition.
