Nectin4/PRR4, a New Afadin-associated Member of the Nectin Family That Trans-interacts with Nectin1/PRR1 through V Domain Interaction

Abstract: Nectins are adhesion molecules that participate in the organization of epithelial and endothelial junctions and serve as receptors for herpes simplex virus entry. They belong to the immunoglobulin superfamily, are homologues of the poliovirus receptor (PVR/CD155), and were also named poliovirus receptor-related (PRR) proteins. We identify a new member of the nectin family named nectin4. Peptide sequences of human and murine nectin4 share 92% identity, and as for other members, the ectodomain is made of three i… Show more

“…Nectin-4 is a type I transmembrane polypeptide member of the nectin family of adhesion molecules and was first identified through a bioinformatics search by Reymond and colleagues (19). We generated a mouse antibody, referred to as M22-244b3, directed against the ECD of human nectin-4 expressed in E. coli.…”

“…Cependant, par rapport aux autres membres de la famille, nectine-4 présente un profil d'expression unique car normalement restreint au stade embryonnaire [4]. La protéine est réexpri-mée dans des tumeurs mammaires de mauvais pronostic alors qu'elle est absente du tissu épithélial mammaire sain [30].…”
