Near-infrared transparent electrodes for precision Teng–Man electro-optic measurements: In2O3 thin-film electrodes with tunable near-infrared transparency

Abstract: Highly near-infrared ͑NIR͒ transparent In 2 O 3 thin films have been grown by ion-assisted deposition at room temperature, and the optical and electrical properties characterized. NIR transparency and the plasma edge frequency can be engineered by control of the film deposition conditions. As-deposited In 2 O 3 thin films were employed as transparent electrodes for direct thin film electro-optic ͑EO͒ characterization measurements via the Teng-Man technique. Using LiNbO 3 as the standard, the relationship betwe… Show more

“…It relies only on the generation of the minimum set of coupling constants, beyond the Hubbard repulsion, on projection to the low energy sector. An interesting feature of the SDW, which it shares with the CDW, is that the electromagnetic response is rather unusual in that it is axionic in character 29,33 . As such the physical realization of such modulated phases is of great interest.…”

“…As such the physical realization of such modulated phases is of great interest. The CDW was shown to be stabilized by attractive short range interaction within mean field 29 . In this paper we show that the CDW is also energetically favored for long range repulsive interaction.…”

“…The term µ A Q A in the single-particle Dirac Hamiltonian shifts the energies of left-and right-handed Weyl nodes to ±µ A . We note that while chiral symmetry breaking for Weyl semimetals with spatial momentum separation between the Weyl nodes (which corresponds to the term b iψ γ i γ 5 ψ) have been studied in details [30][31][32][33], to our knowledge the case of energy separation between Weyl nodes has been previously considered only in the context of effective QCD models [34][35][36][37][38][39][40]. In contrast to these works, here we will explore possible fermionic condensates more systematically, in particular taking into account the renormalization of the chiral chemical potential.…”

“…The characteristic band-touching points may be viewed as topological magnetic monopoles in momentum space, which predicts many interesting phenomena such as anomalous Hall effects, chiral anomalies [10][11][12][13][14][15], and magneto-electric effects [16][17][18][19][20]. Candidate materials include pyrochlore iridates [2], HgCr 2 Se 4 [3,21] and magnetically doped Bi 2 Se 3 family [7,22].…”
